Sevilla announce veteran Sergio Ramos won’t continue for 2024-25 season
►►Veteran defender Sergio Ramos won’t continue at Sevilla next season after the end of his contract, the Spanish club announced on Monday.
Madrid – The 38-year-old returned to the club where he began his career last summer, after 16 seasons with Real Madrid and two with Paris Saint-Germain. He was vital in helping Sevilla avoid relegation in a difficult season, playing a total of 37 matches in all competitions, scoring seven goals.
« Sergio Ramos has informed Sevilla FC that he will not continue next season in the Nervion entity after having fulfilled his dream of returning to the club where began as a player and became an international, » informed the Sevilla website.
« Sevilla FC wants to thank the commitment, leadership and maximum dedication that Sergio Ramos has shown in this campaign, wishing him the best of luck in his next professional challenge, » the note added.
Ramos, who played a record 180 times for the Spanish national team, is now likely to continue his career in the North American MLS, with San Diego.
