Sudeca Elective General Assembly Slated for November 16 in Buea
► ► Sumbe Development and Cultural Association (SUDECA), a grouping of all sons and daughters of Sumbe will on November 16, 2024 converge on Buea for a grand reunion dubbed SUDECA Elective General Assembly.
Afrique54.net › The objectives of the gathering are: to put in place a new executive which will ensure continuity of the affairs of the association and the development of Sumbe, to consolidate the numerous achievements of the outgoing executive headed by Dr Ayuk Takemeyang, ensuring a successful 2024/2025 academic year in Sumbe and the operationalization of the Sumbe community health center that was recently renovated.
In order to ensure the success of this elective general assembly, Dr Ayuk Takemeyang has been working with a solid team to ensure that the event gets the expected outcome. It should be recalled that the idea of SUDECA was born out of a strong conviction by Sumbe elites to take the destiny of their village into their hands by way of making meaningful contribution towards its development. As of now, the association has Professor Emmanuel Tanyi, Sessekou Besong Bakia, Police Commissioner Tang Enow Lawrence and Barrister Tanyi Joseph Mbi as Patrons.
“We may have had a lot of differences in opinion but we are in agreement that SUDECA is necessary for the development of our beautiful village and has a number of great achievements.” I want to congratulate the Chief of Sumbe His Royal Highness Chief Ayuk Hope Njie, Patrons and the outgoing executive of SUDECA for their enormous contribution with respect to this great mile stone achievement especially in the areas of ensuring an effective 2023-2024 academic year. The association has major community development projects and the outgoing executive has done a lot to accommodate sons and daughters of Sumbe in the diaspora.
For the modalities of participation come November 16 in Buea, all sons and daughters of Sumbe are expected to be present and should try to be in good standing in order to avoid controversy. During the SUDECA elective general assembly in Buea, a new executive shall be put in place to pilot the affairs of the Association.
It should be noted that Dr Ayuk Takemeyang and his team were democratically elected in Limbe after the mandate of the previous executive came to an end and there was a leadership vacuum that was created as a result of a lot of controversies and in addition to the crisis situation in this part of the country which caused the association to go comatose.
Dr Ayuk Takemeyang and his team were able to restore the lost confidence in the association, brought peace, unity, trust, accountability and love amongst the various stakeholders and made the association inclusive for all Sumbe sons and daughters. The outgoing executive was able to organize ten very successful general assemblies during their reign with major recommendations and contributions for the betterment of Sumbe.
All condolence visits were well organized and respected as stated in the by-laws of the association, holiday sporting events were carried out in Sumbe to make sure that life returns to normal. Prizes were awarded to meritorious students in official examinations throughout the mandate of the outgoing executive, the reinforcement and renovation of the water system was carried out, the team work extremely hard so that the nursery, primary and secondary schools which were non-functional as a result of the crisis resumed, paid about 80% of all the teachers in the schools in Sumbe and ensured a successful academic year 2023-2024.
Besides, after a long period, the tradition of cultural week was once more rekindled during Easter break 2024 after the renovation of the Sumbe Health center. It is the wish of these outgoing executive that these numerous achievements will be consolidated by the incoming executive after the Buea elective general assembly on November 16, 2024.
The outgoing executive also wish to use this opportunity to sincerely thank some major donors, namely: Honourable Tabot Lawson, Mr Ayuk Gilbert Bakia, Mr. Thomas Enow Tanyi, Sessekou Ebot Oben Tarh, Mr. Etta William, Mme Eyong Lucy, Mr. Benjamin Ayuk, Mr. Bisong Watson, Mr. Tang Enow Lawrence, His Lordship, Bishop, Dr Baie Affue Joseph, Mr. Stephen Atong Ayukosok, Mr. Ayuk Georges Akombi, Mr. Benjamine Ebini Ako etc.
